INDIAN JUDOKA Ms. HUIDROM Oliviya Devi bags World Bronze Medal

In the ongoing World Judo Championships for Cadets at Zagreb, Croatia, Ms. Oliviya shown her the best performance by defeating Uzbekistan, Chinese Taipei, Brazil and Slovalia during the World Cadet Judo Championships and bagged Bronze medal of the below 44 Kg weight category.

Ms. Oliviya also given her bests by winning gold medals in the recent Asian Cadet Open held in Hong Kong Kong and Macau. Considering her performance in these Asian Cups the Inspire Institute of Sports recommended her name for the World Judo Championships, which was accepted by the Hon’ble Administrator, Judo Federation of India.  

It is also proud to inform that the International Judo Federation has specially sent their Congratulations to the Hon’ble Administrator JFI for the victory of Ms. Huidrom Oliviya Devi in the World Championships 2023.

This is the second medal of India in the World Judo Championships. Last year Indian won the first ever gold medal by Ms. Linthoi Chanambam, and due to injury she missed this World Championships.

Ms. HUIDROM Oliviya Devi is training at Inspire Institute of Sports, Bellary under the guidance of the Mr. Mamuka Kizilashvili, Foreign Coach and Mr. Jiwan Kumar Sharma, Dronacharya Awardee. The Gold medalist Ms. Linthoi Chanambam is also training at IIS, Bellary.
