Sub.: Guidelines for participation of Indian Judokas in the International Events
at their Own Cost – 2026-27

 Dear sirs/Madam,

I am directed by the Hon'ble Administrator- Judo Federation of India ( JFI ), to inform you that in view of the latest rules and regulations of the International Judo Federation ( IJF ) for the IJF Events and the selection criteria for identifying players / coaches for the International participation, the JFI has determined to lay down following mandatory conditions which all the judokas who want to participate in future international events at their own cost:

1] The participation of the Judokas, who are in the Top - 4 of the latest National Ranking / Selection Trials, in the International events especially in the World Championships, Grand Slam and Grand Prix must be recommended by the JFI Selection Committee/ JFI Experts Committee.

2] The nomination of the Judoka in the IJF / Invitational recognized Events will be as under:

3] The Judoka must have to apply for his/her participation in the identified events at least six weeks prior to the events, through their respective State/UT/Department.

4] The Judoka must furnish an NOC from a Qualified Coach stating that he will be taking all the responsibility of his/her conduct and the said Coach may also be liable for equal punishment for the misconduct of his/her player.

5] A Coach must be accompanied by the individual/team. In case a female only is applying for the International participation a female Coach must be accompanied with the athlete.

6] Since JFI is the authority to send the entries, hotel reservation, travel schedule etc., the Judoka/s and the Coach/es must make the payment to the organizers account mentioned in the Outlines Or the Individual/s must be submitted an affidavit stating that they will make the payment to the Organizers as per the invoice/demand on arrival, if the Outlines allowed.

7] Non-refundable Amount : An amount of Rs.10,000/- ( Rupees Ten thousand only ) also needs to be deposited in the JFI Account for participating in each event towards the administrative expenses which shall be non-refundable.

8] A Security amount of Rs.60,000/- ( Rupees Sixty thousand only ) is required to deposit in the JFI Account which shall be refunded after the post report received from the athlete/coach along with the request for the refund with Bank details. However, in case of the any violation of the affidavit or the liability the whole amount will be forfeited.

The receipt/proof of the said security deposit must be submitted along with the application.

9] The judoka shall have to follow all the rules and regulations according to the International Judo Federation/Organizers regarding their participation.   

10] The judoka/coach also must submit an affidavit stating that he/she will be the responsible for any kind of his/her misconduct and accept the disciplinary action which may extend to suspension from the Judo events for lifetime, as per the JFI Format attached.

11] The participation will be subject to the NOC from the concerned Organization /Department of the player/coach and also of the parents in case the judoka is minor.

12] The participation will also be subject to the approval of SAI/MYAS, Govt of India if it is mandatory. 

13] JFI will not be responsible for their Visa issues, however correspondence regarding visa support will be done by the JFI on completion of the required documents, Flight Details and Hotel requirement.

The above conditions are mandatory and in case of non fulfilment of any of the above conditions the JFI shall reject the application without any notice/reply.
